In our current COVID 19 environment it may be considered crazy to think about expanding your business or starting a new one. The truth is this may be the right time to be preparing for when this COVID 19 passes, and it will, to prepare for the boom in the economy that will be sure to happen. It is my belief that more people will shop and do business locally.
Some other considerations might be you need to move your business to a more tax friendly locality. Maybe you need a location that is more economical to operate. Maybe you are just looking for another great location to do business. Whatever your reason, we want you to know that we in Gate City are open for business and we want YOUR business.
You may be eligible for some incentives with our enterprise zone and our tourism zone. I would encourage you to contact our town manager for more details. We have a few buildings available in our historic downtown area that may be suitable to your needs. You will find some of those listed on our website.
You will find our community friendly, charming and a great place to do business. Our town’s leadership is progressive and we feel we have poised ourselves for a bright future and we would like to invite you to be part of it.
You may not be aware of it but we have people from all over the world who travel through and stay in our little town at one of our local bed and breakfasts. So, I would like to encourage other businesses in town to “spruce up” their buildings (if necessary) things like painting, planting some flowers in the flower boxes located on the street near your business, if needed. Take time to decorate for the seasons and holidays. Appearance of the town is important for our visitors and for those who may be interested in locating a business here.
This can be especially true for the owners of an empty building who are trying to sell it. Spruce it up …. make it more attractive to a potential buyer.
One of the ideas that is being discussed at his point and I hope can be brought to fruition sometime this fall is an “Investors Showcase”. We hope to be able to contact and invite possible investors to our town and see what we have to offer in properties available and incentives to locate to Gate City. This is why it is important that we “spruce up” our town and put our best foot forward. This is one of the ways we can demonstrate the pride we have in our community.
